Item 2

Looking forward (Kirsty Rankin Paths for All) – 10.05 – 10.15am

Recount governance review process  we’ve just been through – There has been a huge amount of work since before the pandemic.  We’re really proud of this achievements and MFH developments within the physically landscape.

As the coalition has grown we recognise we needed to look at the operational model opportunity to get more structure and a more resilient position. Internal and external discussions led to the revised structure as outlined in TOR. We have a refreshed Terms of Reference (TOR) with a new model for MFH which includes an advisory group, the coalition and community of practice (Paper 1).

This was a difficult process but now we feel we are really strong and have consolidated our positioning within the Active Scotland framework and we really appreciate their support and commitment to move forward. We have also consolidated our partnerships.

We questioned whether PFA was the best place for MFH but this process confirms PFA is the best place for MFH.

All this work has been brought together in the TOR which has been updated from 2020 TOR the critical change is the addition of a small advisory group to support the coalition and workplan giving expertise and guidance around opportunities to grow.

The Advisory group had a look at the 6 delivery outcomes and decided to focus on the first  3 delivery outcomes. As the coalition is a collaborative space  there will still be working groups for particularly subjects.

The meeting schedule is now twice a year for both groups and they will inform each other.

There will also be an open chair of for coalition meetings – thankyou to Robert for chairing today’s meeting. This process has now concluded and we wish to get views from room.  There will also be an annual review cycle.

We recognise all the work which has been achieved with a limited budget so streamlining and quality and recognise experience and expert within the coalition and wish to do more  with limited resource

Questions – none

TOR – designed to be simple and accessible document, new faces so feel free to take a look and feedback by end May 21st for any comments

Care inspectorate care about physical activity program how do we support peoples wellbeing?  Movement is a big part of that reminder to remember people living in care homes or care at home to be included in your programs.

Item 6

Work planning 24/25 – coalition (passion project) subgroups (Robert Nesbit SAMH) Review plans for subgroups recognise resources tight so expectation that each subgroup would have a lead then add volunteers supported by the other members.

Have had subgroups looking at specific work but all these were halted during the review process but what do we need now to go forward? Also task specific that has an end – easier to commit to.

Where can we avoid duplication and/or add Movement for Health into existing  groups e.g. Policy group

Passion projects:

Knowledge and skills sessions

Parliamentary event

Podcast
