Movement in Conversation with Dr Chloë Williamson & Dr Suzy Scarlett
The power of language to influence behaviour change political and individual level are not to be underestimates. In this episode we explore messaging around being active and how this impacts people living with health conditions.

Suzy is a GP and GP trainer in Edinburgh with a passion for the lifestyle medicine approach. She gained her Lifestyle Medicine diploma in 2020 and last year became one of the BSLM Scotland regional leads. She incorporates the six pillars of health wherever she can in her personal and professional life, cascading this knowledge via teaching, training, through her diabetes role, and speaking both in person and on The Movement Prescription Podcast. If she had to pick a favourite pillar it would definitely be physical activity – incorporating simple movement back into our daily lives – and those who do the least, stand to gain the most.

Dr Chloë Williamson is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Physical Activity for Health from the Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC) at the University
of Edinburgh. Her research over the past 5 years (including her PhD) focused on physical activity messaging and building the evidence base in this area to influence policy and practice. As part of her research, she led the development of the Physical Activity Messaging Framework (PAMF) and has recently contributed to the development of the new UK CMO Guidelines Communications Framework.
